Circuit/System Description
The Driver and Passenger window switches are supplied with battery power and ground at all times. The switches have two normally open contacts that continuously provide ground to the window regulator motor control circuits. When a window switch has been activated the respective switch will move to the closed position and provide battery voltage to the appropriate window regulator motor control circuit. The voltage will then flow through
the motor to ground via the other control circuit causing the window to perform up/down operation.
Diagnostic Aids
The front window switch circuits on this vehicle set codes that may display as rear window switch DTC’s.
- DTC B1954 Left Rear Window Switch applies to the S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch - Driver control circuits.
