The solenoid valve controls fluid pressure to the 4-5-6 regulator valve that controls the fluid pressure to the 4-5-6 clutch.

DTC P0796, P0797 will set with a hydraulic/mechanical condition.

Conditions for Running the DTCP0796
  • DTC P0101–P0103, P0106–P0108, P0171, P0172, P0174, P0175, P0201–P0208, P0300–P0308, P0401, P042E, P0716, P0717, P0722, P0723, P182E = Not set
  • Accelerator Pedal Position=Greater than 0.5%
  • Accelerator pedal position signal = Valid
  • Engine Speed=400 to 7,500 RPM
  • High Side Driver=Enabled
  • Ignition Voltage=9 to 32 V
  • Transmission Fluid Temperature=Warmer than −6.7°C (20°F)
  • Transmission Output Speed=Greater than 100 RPM
  • Transmission Range Command=4th Gearor5th Gearor6th gear

Frequency the DTC runs=Continuously—After the running conditions are met—For greater than 5 s

  • DTC P0101–P0103, P0106–P0108, P0171, P0172, P0174, P0175, P0201–P0208, P0300–P0308, P0401, P042E, P0716, P0717, P0722, P0723, P182E = Not set
  • Accelerator Pedal Position=Greater than 0.5%
  • Accelerator pedal position signal = Valid
  • Engine Speed=400 to 7,500 RPM—For greater than 5 s
  • High Side Driver=Enabled
  • Ignition Voltage=9 to 32 V
  • Transmission Fluid Temperature=If −6.7°C (20°F) or warmer
  • Transmission Output Speed=Greater than 100 RPM
  • 4-5-6 Clutch=Commanded Off

Frequency the DTC runs=Continuously—Until commanded gear ratio is attained

Conditions for Setting the DTCP0796

4-5-6 Clutch=Not applied—For greater than 3 s

The above condition(s) must occur 3 times.

4-5-6 Clutch=Applied—For greater than 1.1 s

The above condition(s) must occur 3 times.
