The solenoid valve is used to regulate fluid pressure to other transmission control valves for torque converter clutch operation.

Conditions for Running the DTCP0741
  • DTC P0101–P0103, P0106–P0108, P0171, P0172, P0174, P0175, P0201–P0208, P0300–P0308, P0401, P042E, P0716, P0717, P0722, P0723, P0742, P2763, P2764 = Not set
  • Accelerator Pedal Position=Greater than 8%
  • Accelerator pedal position signal = Valid
  • Engine Speed=400 to 7,500 RPM—For greater than 5 s
  • Engine Torque=Greater than 50 Nm (37 lb ft)
  • Engine Torque Signal=Valid
  • Gear Ratio=Between:
    • 2nd Gear Ratio=2.75 to 3.17
    • 3rd Gear Ratio=1.78 to 2.04
    • 4th Gear Ratio=1.35 to 1.55
    • 5th Gear Ratio=0.93 to 1.07
    • 6th Gear Ratio=0.70 to 0.80
  • Ignition Voltage=9 to 32 V
  • Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Command=Greater than 500 kPa (73 PSI)—For greater than 2 s
  • Transmission Fluid Temperature=−7 to 130°C (20 to 266°F)
  • Power Take-Off=Off

Frequency the DTC runs=Continuously—After the running conditions are met

  • Torque Converter Clutch=Off
  • Transmission=Forward Gear
  • Transmission Fluid Temperature=−7 to 130°C (20 to 266°F)
  • Vehicle Speed=Greater than 1 km/h (0.6 MPH)

Frequency the DTC runs=Continuously—After the running conditions are met

Conditions for Setting the DTCP0741

TCC Slip Speed=Greater than 130 RPM—For greater than 5 s

The above condition(s) must occur 2 times.

TCC Slip Speed=−60 to 30 RPM—For greater than 1 s

The above condition(s) must occur 5 times.

Actions Taken When the DTC SetsP0741

DTC P0741=Type B DTC—Additional actions taken:

  • TCC Control=Disabled
  • Transmission—6th gear=Disabled
  • Transmission Shift Mode=Transmission Hot Mode
P0742

DTC P0742=Type A DTC—Additional actions taken:

  • TCC Control=Applied
  • Transmission Adaptive Pressure Control=Freeze current adapt values
  • Neutral Idle Mode=Disabled
  • Transmission Shift Mode=Transmission Hot Mode
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
  • DTC P0741=Type B DTC
  • DTC P0742=Type A DTC
Diagnostic Aids
  • DTC P0741 will set with a hydraulic/mechanical condition or high resistance in the circuit of the component Q39A without setting component/control circuit DTCs.
  • DTC P0742 will set with a hydraulic/mechanical condition.
