Removal Procedure

  6. Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose Connector Clamp(3)»Disengage—Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  7. Fuel Cooler Coolant Cooler Inlet Hose (4)»Remove
  8. Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose Connector Clamp(5)»Disengage—Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  9. Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose(6)»Remove

  10. Emission Reduction Fluid Injector Clamp(1)»Remove and DISCARD

    11. Note: Do not use a prying tool to remove the injector.

  11. Reductant Fluid Injector(2)»Remove

    12. Note: After removing the injector, wipe any residual DEF with a clean towel to avoid urea crystal build up at the connection during installation. Urea crystal build-up can result in a future leak.

  12. Exhaust System Front Gasket(3)»Remove and DISCARD
  13. Clean the exhaust mounting flange and injector mounting surfaces to remove any soot or emission reduction fluid deposits.

Installation Procedure

    Note: A NEW emission reduction fluid injector will have a new gasket as part of assembly (POA).

  1. Exhaust System Front Gasket(3)»Install NEW

    2. Note: Prior to install the injector, make sure the parts are perfectly clean. If required, clean out with distilled water in order to dissolve any residual crystal.

  3. Emission Reduction Fluid Injector Clamp(1)»Install NEW—Fastener Specifications

  12. Fill the charge air cooling system. Charge Air Cooling System Draining and Filling

    13. Note: The full system air leak test procedure from charge air cooler diagnosis allows the emission reduction fluid injector connection to be pressurized for leak inspection.

  13. Check for leaks and ensure the emission reduction fluid injector joint is properly sealed. Charge Air Cooler Diagnosis
