INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL STARTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the wire harness clamp bracket to the starter assembly with the bolt.

Torque:

10 N·m {102 kgf·cm, 7 ft·lbf}

(b) Install the starter assembly to the cylinder block sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

Torque:

46 N·m {469 kgf·cm, 34 ft·lbf}

NOTICE:

Make sure that the flywheel housing under cover is securely installed.

(c) Connect the engine wire to terminal 30 with the nut.

Torque:

9.8 N·m {100 kgf·cm, 87 in·lbf}

(d) Engage the clamp.

(e) Close the terminal cap.

(f) Connect the starter assembly connector.

2. INSTALL FLYWHEEL HOUSING SIDE COVER

(a) Align the protrusion with the cylinder block sub-assembly and engage the claw as shown in the illustration to install the flywheel housing side cover. NOTICE: Make sure the claw makes a click sound, indicating that it fits tightly. Replace the flywheel housing side cover with a new one if the claw does not fit tightly or is deformed.

3. CONNECT ENGINE WIRE (for Automatic Transaxle)

(a) Engage the guide.

(b) Connect the engine wire with the bolt.

Torque:

20 N·m {204 kgf·cm, 15 ft·lbf}

(c) Engage the 2 clamps.

4. CONNECT TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER (for Automatic Transaxle)

(a) Engage the clamp.

(b) Connect the transmission oil cooler to the oil cooler bracket with the 2 bolts.

Torque:

13.5 N·m {138 kgf·cm, 10 ft·lbf}

5. INSTALL NO. 5 AIR HOSE (for Automatic Transaxle)

6. INSTALL NO. 4 AIR HOSE (for Automatic Transaxle)

7. INSTALL NO. 2 AIR TUBE (for Automatic Transaxle)

8. CONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE (for Automatic Transaxle)

9. INSTALL AIR CLEANER WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE (for Automatic Transaxle)

10. INSTALL INLET NO. 1 AIR CLEANER (for Automatic Transaxle)

11. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER (for Automatic Transaxle)

12. INSTALL OIL FILTER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

Click here

13. CONNECT NO. 5 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

Click here

14. CONNECT NO. 6 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

Click here

15. INSTALL OIL PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE SENSOR

16. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

17. INSTALL DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY

18. ADD ENGINE OIL

19. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

Click here

20. INSPECT FOR ENGINE OIL LEAK

21. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK

22. CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL

23. INSPECT RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ENGINE COOLANT LEVEL

24. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

25. INITIALIZATION AFTER RECONNECTING BATTERY TERMINAL

HINT:

When disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, there is an automatic learning function that completes learning when the respective system is used.
