When the cable is disconnected / reconnected to the auxiliary battery terminal, systems temporarily stop operating. However, each system has a function that completes learning the first time the system is used.

PROCEDURE
1. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:
If automatic transaxle assembly parts are replaced, refer to Parts Replacement Compensation Table to determine if any additional operations are necessary.

2. REMOVE TRANSFER ASSEMBLY

3. REMOVE FRONT TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL
(a) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, remove the front transaxle case oil seal from the transaxle housing.
NOTICE:
Do not damage the front differential case or transaxle housing.

4. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH
(a) Using SST, remove the front drive shaft oil seal RH from the front differential case.

NOTICE:
Do not damage the front differential case.

5. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH
(a) Coat the lip of a new front drive shaft oil seal RH with MP grease.
(b) Using SST and a hammer, install the front drive shaft oil seal RH to the front differential case.

Standard Depth:
21.5 to 22.5 mm (0.846 to 0.886 in.)
NOTICE:
-
Make sure to install the front drive shaft oil seal RH as specified, otherwise malfunctions such as a fluid leak will occur.
-
Do not damage the lip of the front drive shaft oil seal RH.

6. INSTALL FRONT TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL
(a) Coat the lip of a new front transaxle case oil seal with MP grease.
(b) Using SST and a hammer, install the front transaxle case oil seal to the transaxle housing.

Standard Depth:
5.5 to 6.5 mm (0.217 to 0.256 in.)
NOTICE:
-
Be sure to install the front transaxle case oil seal in the correct direction.
-
Make sure to install the front transaxle case oil seal as specified, otherwise malfunctions such as a fluid leak will occur.
-
Do not damage the lip of the front transaxle case oil seal.
