REMOVAL

HINT:
Use a Toyota genuine belt or an equivalent high strength belt when replacing the belt. If a high strength belt is not used, the durability of the belt may be insufficient. A high strength belt is reinforced with an aramid core and is stronger than other belts with a PET (polyester) or PEN (polyethylene naphthalate) core.

1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

3. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY (w/ Engine Under Cover Air Guide)

4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Engine Under Cover Air Guide)

5. DRAIN WASHER FLUID (w/ Engine Under Cover Air Guide)

6. REMOVE INLET HOSE (w/ Engine Under Cover Air Guide)

7. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WASHER JAR ASSEMBLY (w/ Engine Under Cover Air Guide)

8. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER AIR GUIDE (w/ Engine Under Cover Air Guide)

9. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT
(a) Insert a hexagon wrench (4 mm width across flats) into the securing hole of the ribbed belt tensioner assembly.
HINT:
Make sure to fully insert the hexagon wrench (4 mm width across flats).
(b) Rotate the ribbed belt tensioner assembly counterclockwise to loosen the tension.
(c) Pull the hexagon wrench (4 mm width across flats) as shown in the illustration to secure.
(d) Remove the fan and generator V belt from the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly.
