When the cable is disconnected / reconnected to the auxiliary battery terminal, systems temporarily stop operating. However, each system has a function that completes learning the first time the system is used.

PROCEDURE
1. REMOVE WATER OUTLET
|
(a) Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 4 water by-pass hose from the EGR valve assembly with EGR cooler. |
|
(b) Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 9 water by-pass hose from the purge valve.
(c) Remove the 2 nuts, water outlet and water outlet gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
2. REMOVE EGR PIPE ASSEMBLY
|
(a) Remove the 4 bolts and EGR pipe assembly, EGR pipe gasket and inlet EGR gasket. |
|
3. REMOVE EGR VALVE ASSEMBLY WITH EGR COOLER
(a) Remove the bolt and 4 nuts.

(b) Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 stud bolts and EGR valve assembly with EGR cooler from the cylinder head sub-assembly and exhaust manifold (TWC: Front Catalyst).
(c) Remove the EGR cooler gasket.
