1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL LH

2. REMOVE INLET NO. 1 AIR CLEANER (w/ Engine Hood Courtesy Switch)
for M20A-FKS:

3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER LH

4. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH
Click here
5. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY
(a) w/ Engine Hood Courtesy Switch:

(1) Disconnect the connector. |
|
|
(2) Disengage the clamp. |
|
(b) for Hatchback:
|
(1) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, remove the hood lock nut cap. |
|
|
(2) Remove the 2 bolts and hood lock bolt. |
|
(c) for Sedan:
|
(1) Remove the 3 bolts. |
|
|
(d) Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly to remove the hood lock assembly. |

6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

7. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

8. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

9. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly to remove the hood lock control lever sub-assembly. |
|
10. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage each clamp and the grommet as shown in the illustration.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Pull the hood lock control cable assembly from the engine compartment to remove it.
