REMOVAL
CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the generator assembly removal/installation are shown below.
HINT:
When the cable is disconnected / reconnected to the battery terminal, systems temporarily stop operating. However, each system has a function that completes learning the first time the system is used.

|
Drive the vehicle straight ahead at 35 km/h (22 mph) or more for 5 seconds or more.

|
Perform door unlock operation with door control switch or electrical key transmitter sub-assembly switch.

PROCEDURE
1. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
(a) for Type A:
(1) Remove spare wheel cushion.

(b) Loosen the nut and disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

4. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT

5. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

6. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the 3 connectors.

(b) Remove the bolt and disconnect the wire harness clamp bracket.
(c) Open the terminal cap.
(d) Remove the nut and disconnect the engine wire from terminal B.
(e) Remove the bolt and 2 nuts.

(f) Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 stud bolts and generator assembly.
