REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during the battery removal/installation are shown below.

NOTICE:

When replacing the battery, use a new battery of the same dimensions and same capacity or more from the same class at a 20-hour rate.

HINT:

When the cable is disconnected / reconnected to the battery terminal, systems temporarily stop operating. However, each system has a function that completes learning the first time the system is used.

PROCEDURE

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:

After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

(a) Loosen the nut and disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

3. REMOVE BATTERY

(a) Disengage the 2 claws to remove the fusible link cover.

(b) Loosen the nut.

(c) Disengage the clamp and disconnect the cable from the positive (+) battery terminal.

Remove in this Direction

Remove in this Direction

(d) Remove the bolt.

(e) Remove the No. 2 battery clamp as shown in the illustration.

(f) Remove the battery from the vehicle.
