INSTALLATION
PROCEDURE
1. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) When installing a new instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly:
(1) Immediately before installing the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly, twist and cut off the portion as shown in the illustration.
(b) Engage the 2 guides as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
- Do not damage the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.
- Do not allow the wire harnesses to interfere with the surrounding parts.
(c) Install the 2 bolts <B> and 8 screws <D>.
(d) Install the 3 clips.
(e) Install the instrument panel safety pad assembly with the 2 bolts <A>.
Torque:
Bolt <A> :
20 N·m {204 kgf·cm, 15 ft·lbf}
(f) Engage each clamp.
(g) Connect each connector.
(h) Install the bolts <C>.
Torque:
Bolt <C> :
10 N·m {102 kgf·cm, 7 ft·lbf}
(i) Engage the 2 claws to connect the cooler (room temp. sensor) thermistor.
2. CONNECT NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE

3. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY
(a) Connect the connector.
(b) Engage the 3 guides and 9 clips as shown in the illustration.

(c) Install the upper instrument panel assembly with the 2 clips.
4. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (w/ Stereo Component Amplifier)

5. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL
(a) for 6 Speakers:
(1) Connect the connector.
(b) Engage the 2 guides, 2 clips and 2 claws as shown in the illustration to install the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel.

6. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

(a) Engage the 2 clips as shown in the illustration to install the instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

(a) Engage the 5 clips as shown in the illustration to install the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

9. INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

10. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL RETAINER
(a) Engage the 2 clips as shown in the illustration to install the instrument cluster finish panel retainer.

11. INSTALL CENTER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
(a) w/ Power Switch:
(1) Connect the connector.
(b) Engage the 4 clips as shown in the illustration to install the center No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel.

12. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY
(a) Engage the guide and 6 clips to install the instrument cluster finish panel assembly.
13. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (w/ Stereo Component Amplifier)

14. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL
(a) for 6 Speakers:
(1) Connect the connector.
(b) Engage the 2 guides, 2 clips and 2 claws as shown in the illustration to install the No. 2 instrument panel speaker panel.

15. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH
HINT:
Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
16. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Engage the 9 clips as shown in the illustration to install the No. 1 instrument panel garnish sub-assembly.

17. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL
(a) Connect the connector.
(b) Engage the 4 clips and claw as shown in the illustration.

(c) Install the lower No. 2 instrument panel finish panel with the 5 screws <E>.
18. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
(a) With the glove compartment door assembly opened approximately 57° from its closed position, engage the 2 hinges horizontally.

NOTICE:
Engaging the hinges from the top will deform the hinges. Be sure to install the glove compartment door assembly horizontally.
(b) Slightly bend the stoppers (A) and (B) in the directions indicated by the arrows in the illustration and engage the stoppers to install the glove compartment door assembly.

(c) Engage the claw to connect the glove compartment door stopper sub-assembly.
19. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH ASSEMBLY
(a) for Type A:
(1) Engage the 2 guides and 12 clips as shown in the illustration.

Be careful not to deform or damage the narrow part of the instrument cluster finish panel garnish assembly during installation.
(b) for Type B:
(1) Engage the guide and 11 clips as shown in the illustration.

Be careful not to deform or damage the narrow part of the instrument cluster finish panel garnish assembly during installation.
(c) Install the instrument cluster finish panel garnish assembly with the screw <E>.
20. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Instrument Panel Under Cover)
(a) Engage the 2 guides and 3 claws as shown in the illustration to install the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

(a) Engage the 3 guides and 5 clips as shown in the illustration to install the No. 2 instrument side panel.

(a) Engage the 2 guides and 4 clips as shown in the illustration to install the upper instrument panel meter ornament.

(b) Engage the clamp.
(c) Engage the 4 clips and 4 claws as shown in the illustration to install the lower instrument panel finish panel.

33. CONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Engage the 2 guides and claw to connect the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

(a) Engage the 3 guides and 5 clips as shown in the illustration to install the No. 1 instrument side panel.
