INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

When replacing the battery, use a new battery of the same dimensions and same capacity or more from the same class at a 20-hour rate.

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL BATTERY

(a) Install the battery to the vehicle.

(b) Install the No. 2 battery clamp with the bolt.

Install in this Direction

Torque:

15.4 N·m {157 kgf·cm, 11 ft·lbf}

(c) Connect the cable to the positive (+) battery terminal.

(d) Engage the spring assy as shown in the illustration.

	Install in this Direction

(e) Tighten the nut.

Torque:

5.6 N·m {57 kgf·cm, 50 in·lbf}

(f) Engage the 2 claws and install the fusible link cover.

2. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

(a) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal and tighten the nut.

Torque:

5.4 N·m {55 kgf·cm, 48 in·lbf}

3. INITIALIZATION AFTER RECONNECTING BATTERY TERMINAL

HINT:

When disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, there is an automatic learning function that completes learning when the respective system is used.
