REMOVAL
PROCEDURE
1. REMOVE FRONT WHEELS

2. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH
Click here
3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY
Click here
4. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT
Click here
5. REMOVE COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY
Click here
6. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR TUBE
(b) Loosen the 2 hose clamps to remove the No. 1 air tube from the No. 2 air hose and No. 3 air hose.
7. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR HOSE
(a) Loosen the hose clamp to remove the No. 2 air hose from the turbocharger sub-assembly.

8. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE
(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the engine wire from the timing chain cover assembly.

9. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY

10. REMOVE TIMING GEAR COVER INSULATOR
(a) Remove the timing gear cover insulator from the timing chain cover assembly.

11. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY ASSEMBLY

12. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 12 bolts and seal washer.

|
(b) Remove the timing chain cover assembly by prying between the timing chain cover assembly and oil pan sub-assembly, cylinder block sub-assembly with a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape.
(c) Remove the 2 oil pump gaskets from the cylinder block sub-assembly.
NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the oil pan sub-assembly.
