INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

HINT:

  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL GROMMET

(a) Perform this procedure only when replacement of the grommet is necessary.

(1) Install the 3 grommets.

2. INSTALL QUARTER OPENING RETAINER

(a) Perform this procedure only when replacement of the quarter opening retainer pad is necessary.

(1) Clean the outside moulding set.

1. Using a heat light, heat the outside moulding set surface.

HINT:

When installing the quarter opening retainer pad, heat the outside moulding set using a heat light.

CAUTION:

  • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.
  • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

NOTICE:

Do not heat the outside moulding set excessively.

2. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the outside moulding set.

3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

(2) Using a brush or felt, apply primer or equivalent to the quarter opening retainer installation area.

NOTICE:

  • Use a clean brush or felt.
  • Do not touch the outside moulding set until the primer has dried.

(3) Install a new quarter opening retainer.

1. Using a heat light, heat the outside moulding set surface.

2. Remove the release paper from the quarter opening retainer pad.

HINT:

After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

3. Install the quarter opening retainer pad as shown in the illustration.

HINT:

Press the quarter opening retainer pad firmly to install it.

(b) Install the quarter opening retainer with the 3 screws.

3. INSTALL OUTSIDE MOULDING SET

(a) When reusing the outside moulding set:

(1) Install 6 new clips to the outside moulding set.

(b) Engage the 6 clips.

(c) Install the outside moulding set with the 3 clips.
