Title: BRAKE SYSTEM (OTHER): BRAKE FLUID (for Gasoline Model): ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION; 2023 - 2025 MY Corolla Corolla Hatchback GR Corolla [09/2022 -        ]

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR

(a) Check the fluid level.

Brake Fluid (for G16E-GTS):

"TOYOTA GENUINE BRAKE FLUID DOT4, CLASS6"*, FMVSS No.116 DOT4 or SAE J1704LV*

*: If a fluid type with "TOYOTA GENUINE BRAKE FLUID DOT4, CLASS6", FMVSS No.116 DOT4 or SAE J1704LV is not available, fluid type with TOYOTA GENUINE BRAKE FLUID DOT3, FMVSS No.116 DOT3 or SAE J1703 may be used with no detriment to brake durability.

Brake Fluid (except G16E-GTS):

SAE J1703 or FMVSS No. 116 DOT3

SAE J1704 or FMVSS No. 116 DOT4

NOTICE:

If using a dropper to adjust the fluid amount, make sure that the dropper has not been used with mineral oils, water or deteriorated brake fluid. Sealed areas may deteriorate and lead to fluid leaks, or the fluid may deteriorate and lead to decreased efficiency.

HINT:

  • If the brake fluid level is lower than the MIN line, inspect for brake fluid leaks and brake pad wear. If necessary, refill the reservoir with brake fluid to the MAX line after repair or replacement.
  • The brake fluid level must always be adjusted to the MAX line.
