Stop Light Switch Circuit Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

  • When the brakes are applied by the dynamic radar cruise control system, the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) operates the stop light switch assembly (stop light control relay) to illuminate the stop lights.
  • If the ECM receives a signal from the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) indicating a malfunction of the stop light control relay, DTC P0571 is stored.

Stop Light Switch Circuit Malfunction

When the dynamic radar cruise control system is operating, the ECM detects a signal indicating a stop light control relay malfunction from the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) for approximately 0.5 second or more.

Condition 1:

(a) Disconnect the A46 ECM connector.

(b) Disconnect the A53 stop light switch assembly connector.

(c) Disconnect the A51 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.*4

(d) Disconnect the A100 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.*5

(e) Disconnect the O61 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.*1

(f) Disconnect the I17 shift lock control ECU (shift lock control unit assembly) connector.*2

(g) Disconnect the I18 shift lock control ECU (shift lock control unit assembly) connector.*3

(h) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
