DESCRIPTION
Use the following procedure if no DTCs are output but the EPS warning light is illuminated continuously.
The power steering ECU assembly controls the warning light in the combination meter assembly via CAN communication.
PROCEDURE

1. |
CHECK VEHICLE CONTROL HISTORY (POWER STEERING SYSTEM) |
(a) Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Enter the following menus: Chassis / EMPS / Utility / Vehicle Control History (RoB).
(d) Using the GTS, check for Vehicle Control History.

The EPS warning light illuminates if any vehicle control history is stored.

PERFORM TROUBLESHOOTING AND REPAIR REGARDING VEHICLE CONTROL HISTORY NOTICE: After performing troubleshooting and repair regarding vehicle control history, clear the vehicle control history. |

INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY |
(a) Perform the Active Test of the combination meter assembly using the GTS.

Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Active Test
(b) Check the combination meter assembly.
OK:
The EPS warning light turns on or off in accordance with the GTS operation.

INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY |
(a) Perform the Active Test of the combination meter assembly using the GTS.

Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Active Test
(b) Check the combination meter assembly.
OK:
The multi-information display in the combination meter assembly turns on according to the operation of the Active Test.
