The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during floor shift transmission control select cable removal/installation are shown below.

CAUTION:
To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.
PROCEDURE
1. SECURE VEHICLE
(a) Fully apply the parking brake and chock a wheel.
CAUTION:
-
Make sure to apply the parking brake and chock a wheel before performing this procedure.
-
If the vehicle is not secure and the shift lever is moved to N, the vehicle may suddenly move, possibly resulting in an accident or serious injury.
2. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

4. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER LH (w/ Cover)

5. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH (w/ Cover)
HINT:
Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
6. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR CENTER BRACE

7. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst)

8. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR
(a) Remove 3 nuts and front No. 1 floor heat insulator from the vehicle body.

9. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT TRANSMISSION CONTROL SELECT CABLE
(a) Move the shift lever to N.
(b) Disconnect the floor shift transmission control select cable from the transmission floor shift assembly.

(c) Rotate the lock nut counterclockwise approximately 180° and, while holding the lock nut in that position, disconnect the floor shift transmission control select cable from the transmission floor shift assembly.
NOTICE:
Do not forcibly pull the floor shift transmission control select cable into the cabin.

(d) While disengaging the clip as shown in the illustration, disconnect the floor shift transmission control select cable from the transmission control shaft lever together with the clip.

(e) Remove the clip and disconnect the floor shift transmission control select cable from the No. 1 transmission control cable bracket.
|
|
(f) Disconnect the floor shift transmission control select cable from the transmission control cable support.
|
|
(g) Remove the bolt and disconnect the floor shift transmission control select cable from the engine assembly.
(h) Remove the nut and disconnect the floor shift transmission control select cable from the vehicle body.

(i) Remove the 2 nuts and floor shift transmission control select cable from the vehicle body.
