INSPECTION
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT CLUTCH DISC ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a vernier caliper, measure the rivet head depth.
Minimum Rivet Head Depth:
0.3 mm (0.0118 in.)
If necessary, replace the cover and disc clutch set.
(b) Install the clutch disc assembly to the manual transaxle assembly.
HINT:
Insert the clutch disc assembly in the correct direction.
(c) Using a dial indicator, measure the clutch disc assembly runout.
Maximum Runout:
0.8 mm (0.0315 in.)
If necessary, replace the cover and disc clutch set.
2. INSPECT CLUTCH COVER ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a vernier caliper, measure the depth and width of the diaphragm spring wear.
Maximum:
Depth
0.5 mm (0.0197 in.)
Width
6.0 mm (0.236 in.)
If necessary, replace the cover and disc clutch set.
3. INSPECT FLYWHEEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Inspect the flywheel sub-assembly for runout.
(1) Using a dial indicator, check the flywheel sub-assembly runout.
Maximum Runout:
1.9 mm (0.0748 in.)
NOTICE:
The measurement point for the runout check should be 100 mm (3.94 in.) from the center of the flywheel sub-assembly.
If the runout is more than the maximum, replace the flywheel sub-assembly.
*a
Measured distance from flywheel sub-assembly center
(b) Inspect the flywheel sub-assembly for play in the direction of rotation.
(1) Place paint marks on the flywheel sub-assembly.
(2) Move the flywheel sub-assembly by hand in the direction shown in the illustration to inspect the play in the rotation direction.
Standard Angle:
32° or less
If the angle is not as specified, replace the flywheel sub-assembly.
(c) Inspect the clutch facing for the amount of wear.
(1) Using a feeler gauge, measure the clearance.
Maximum Clearance:
0.1 mm (0.00394 in.)
NOTICE:
Replace the flywheel sub-assembly if there are significant burns or scratches on the sliding surfaces.
If the clearance is not as specified, replace the flywheel sub-assembly.
