DESCRIPTION
The ABS solenoid relay is built into the skid control ECU in the brake actuator assembly. The ABS solenoid relay supplies power to each solenoid.
The skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) detects an ABS solenoid relay malfunction by performing a self-check and relay operation check.

MONITOR DESCRIPTION
C143B and C143C:
-
The skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) monitors the voltage of the ABS solenoid relay. By comparing the voltage upstream of the relay to the voltage downstream of the relay, it can detect if the relay is stuck on (relay remains on during OFF command), or stuck off (relay remains off during ON command). If the relay is stuck on or stuck off for a certain amount of time, the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) illuminates the MIL and stores this DTC.
C143D (Case 1 to 3):
-
The ABS solenoid relay has a self-diagnosis function that monitors the relay and relay drive circuit. When the self-diagnosis function detects a relay or relay drive circuit malfunction, the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) illuminates the MIL and stores this DTC.
C14DB (Case 1 and 2):
-
When a short to ground in the ABS solenoid relay continues for a certain amount of time, the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) illuminates the MIL and stores this DTC.

CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN
NOTICE:
When performing the normal judgment procedure, make sure that the driver door is closed and is not opened at any time during the procedure.
HINT:
-
After repair has been completed, clear the DTC and then check that the vehicle has returned to normal by performing the following All Readiness check procedure.
-
When clearing the permanent DTCs, refer to the "CLEAR PERMANENT DTC" procedure.
-
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
-
Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.
-
Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC procedure).
-
Turn the ignition switch off.
-
Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY) and turn the GTS on.
-
Wait for 1 second or more. [*]
HINT:
[*]: Normal judgment procedure.
The normal judgment procedure is used to complete DTC judgment and also used when clearing permanent DTCs.
-
Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB* / Utility / All Readiness.
*: Electric Parking Brake System
-
Check the DTC judgment result.
HINT:
-
If the judgment result shows NORMAL, the system is normal.
-
If the judgment result shows ABNORMAL, the system has a malfunction.
-
If the judgment result shows INCOMPLETE, perform driving pattern again.
