DESCRIPTION

The ABS solenoid relay and solenoid valves are built into the brake actuator assembly.

The rear solenoid valve LH controls the brake fluid pressure of the rear wheel cylinder LH of the vehicle.

When this DTC is stored, the fail-safe function operates and the ABS solenoid relay is turned off to prevent the solenoid valves from operating.

DTC No.

MONITOR DESCRIPTION

C12D1 and C12DC:

  • When the ABS solenoid is not operating and it is detected by the self-diagnosis function that there is an internal malfunction in the ABS solenoid circuit, the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) illuminates the MIL and stores this DTC.

C12D2 (Case 1) and C12DD (Case 1):

  • When it is detected by the self-diagnosis function that the feedback value from the ABS solenoid drive circuit does not match the operation request value, the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) illuminates the MIL and stores this DTC.

C12D2 (Case 2) and C12DD (Case 2):

  • When the downstream voltage of the ABS solenoid or the current flowing in the ABS solenoid is less than a certain value, the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) illuminates the MIL and stores this DTC.

C12D2 (Case 3) and C12DD (Case 3):

  • When the ABS solenoid is not operating and the current flowing in the ABS solenoid exceeds a certain value (current leak is detected), the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) illuminates the MIL and stores this DTC.

C12D2 (Case 4) and C12DD (Case 4):

  • If the current flowing in the ABS solenoid circuit, circuit temperature, or voltage drop within the circuit is a certain value or more, the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) judges that there is an ABS solenoid overcurrent malfunction and illuminates the MIL and stores this DTC.

C12D2 (Case 5) and C12DD (Case 5):

  • If the ABS solenoid is not operating and the resistance value of the ABS solenoid is outside of a certain range, the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) illuminates the MIL and stores this DTC.

C12D3 and C12DE:

  • If the current in the ABS solenoid circuit, voltage or temperature is less than or exceeds a certain value, or the operation request value and feedback value deviate by a certain value or more, the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) illuminates the MIL and stores this DTC.

C12D4 and C12DF:

  • When it is detected by the self-diagnosis function that there is a short to +B in the ABS solenoid circuit, the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) illuminates the MIL and stores this DTC.

CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN

NOTICE:

When performing the normal judgment procedure, make sure that the driver door is closed and is not opened at any time during the procedure.

HINT:

  • After repair has been completed, clear the DTC and then check that the vehicle has returned to normal by performing the following All Readiness check procedure.
  • When clearing the permanent DTCs, refer to the "CLEAR PERMANENT DTC" procedure.
  1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.
  3. Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC procedure).
  4. Turn the ignition switch off.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to ON (READY) and turn the GTS on.
  6. Wait for 1 second or more. [*]

    HINT:

    [*]: Normal judgment procedure.

The normal judgment procedure is used to complete DTC judgment and also used when clearing permanent DTCs.

  7. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB* / Utility / All Readiness.

    *: Electric Parking Brake System

  8. Check the DTC judgment result.

    HINT:

    • If the judgment result shows NORMAL, the system is normal.
    • If the judgment result shows ABNORMAL, the system has a malfunction.
    • If the judgment result shows INCOMPLETE, perform driving pattern again.
