  • The airbag sensor assembly detects an open circuit signal or short circuit to ground signal in the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator "ON" circuit when the airbag sensor assembly sends an "OFF" request signal to the "ON" indicator in the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator.

(a) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

Refer to the normal condition of the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator.

NOTICE:

Do not forcibly insert the service wire into the terminals of the connector when connecting a service wire.

(c) Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

(d) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

Procedure1

(e) Check the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator operation.

OK:

The passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator "ON" come on.

Post-procedure1

(f) Turn the ignition switch off.

(g) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

(h) Disconnect the service wire from connector B.
