CAUTION:

  • Never perform work on fuel system components near any possible ignition sources.
  • Vaporized fuel could ignite, resulting in a serious accident.
  • Do not perform work on fuel system components without first disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  • Sparks could cause vaporized fuel to ignite, resulting in a serious accident.
  • To prevent serious injury due to fuel spray from the high-pressure fuel lines, always discharge fuel system pressure before removing any fuel system components.

NOTICE:

  • After the ignition switch is turned off, the radio and display receiver assembly records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch off, make sure to wait at least 85 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. (for Navigation System and Audio and Visual System (for Gasoline Model))
  • This procedure includes the removal of small-head bolts. Refer to Small-Head Bolts of Basic Repair Hint to identify the small-head bolts.

5. REMOVE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR

(a) Using an 8 mm socket wrench, remove the 2 bolts, fuel pressure sensor and No. 1 fuel pressure sensor holder from the fuel delivery pipe.

NOTICE:

  • Pull and remove the fuel pressure sensor in a straight line to avoid damaging the seal surface of the fuel delivery pipe O-ring.
  • After removing the fuel pressure sensor, remove any O-ring and fuel injector back-up rings remaining on the fuel delivery pipe side.
