REMOVAL
CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during curtain shield airbag assembly removal/installation are shown below.

NOTICE:
for HV Model:

After the power switch is turned off, the radio and display receiver assembly records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, make sure to wait at least 85 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. (for Audio and Visual System (for HV Model))
for Gasoline Model:
-
After the ignition switch is turned off, the radio and display receiver assembly records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch off, make sure to wait at least 85 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. (for Navigation System and Audio and Visual System (for Gasoline Model))
HINT:

Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

The following procedure is for the LH side.
PROCEDURE

CAUTION:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch (for Gasoline Model) or power switch (for HV Model) off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

3. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

4. REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
CAUTION:
When storing the curtain shield airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

NOTICE:
When removing the curtain shield airbag assembly, have assistants hold it to prevent it from bending.
(a) Check that the ignition switch (for Gasoline Model) or power switch (for HV Model) is off.
(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
(c) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, release the airbag connector locking button and disconnect the airbag connector.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
(d) Using a needle nose pliers No. 2 or equivalent, remove the 4 pins from the 3 clips (A) and clip (B).
NOTICE:
Do not damage the pins.

(e) Using 2 thin screwdrivers, disengage the 2 claws of each clip (A) and (B), and separate the 3 clips (A) and clip (B) from the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.
HINT:
Separate the 3 clips (A), clip (B) and curtain shield airbag assembly from the vehicle body as a unit.
(f) Disengage the 2 clips (C).
(g) While holding the curtain shield airbag assembly, remove the 7 bolts and curtain shield airbag assembly.
(h) Remove the 3 clips (A) and clip (B) from the curtain shield airbag assembly.
