PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT TRANSMISSION CONTROL SELECT CABLE

NOTICE:

Before adjusting the floor shift transmission control select cable, check that the shift lever position sensor and shift lever are in N.

(a) Pass the floor shift transmission control select cable into the vehicle and install the floor shift transmission control select cable to the vehicle body with the 2 nuts.

Torque:

6.0 N·m {61 kgf·cm, 53 in·lbf}

(b) Connect the floor shift transmission control select cable to the vehicle body with the nut.

Torque:

6.0 N·m {61 kgf·cm, 53 in·lbf}

(c) Connect the floor shift transmission control select cable to the engine assembly with the bolt.

Torque:

12 N·m {122 kgf·cm, 9 ft·lbf}

(d) Connect the floor shift transmission control select cable to the transmission control cable support.

(e) Connect the floor shift transmission control select cable to the No. 1 transmission control cable bracket with a new clip.

(f) Turn the control shaft lever clockwise until it stops, then turn it counterclockwise 2 notches.

(g) Connect the floor shift transmission control select cable to the control shaft lever with the nut.

Torque:

12 N·m {122 kgf·cm, 9 ft·lbf}

(h) Turn the lock nut of the floor shift transmission control select cable counterclockwise. While holding the lock nut, push in the stopper.

(i) Connect the floor shift transmission control select cable to the transmission floor shift assembly. NOTICE: After installation, check that the outer part of the stopper is as shown in the illustration. Do not forcibly pull the floor shift transmission control select cable into the cabin.

(j) Connect the floor shift transmission control select cable to the transmission floor shift assembly. NOTICE: Push the end of the floor shift transmission control select cable all the way to the base of the transmission floor shift assembly pin. Connect the floor shift transmission control select cable so that the lock piece faces the driver side.

2. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR

(a) Install the front No. 1 floor heat insulator to the vehicle body with the 3 nuts.

Torque:

5.0 N·m {51 kgf·cm, 44 in·lbf}

3. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst)

4. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR CENTER BRACE

5. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR COVER LH

6. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR COVER RH

HINT:

Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

7. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

8. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

9. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION

10. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION

11. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK
