The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly removal/installation are shown below.

NOTICE:
for HV Model:
- After the power switch is turned off, the radio and display receiver assembly records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, make sure to wait at least 85 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. (for Audio and Visual System (for HV Model))
for Gasoline Model:
- After the ignition switch is turned off, the radio and display receiver assembly records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch off, make sure to wait at least 85 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. (for Audio and Visual System (for Gasoline Model))
- After the engine switch is turned off, the radio and display receiver assembly records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 85 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. (for Navigation System)

NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch (for Gasoline Model) or power switch (for HV Model) off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

7. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

8. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

10. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
CAUTION:
When storing the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

Deployment Side |
(a) Check that the ignition switch (for Gasoline Model) or power switch (for HV Model) is off.
(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Remove the 2 bolts. |
|
|
(d) Disengage the 2 claws and separate the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly. NOTICE: When separating the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly, do not pull the airbag wire harness. |

(e) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, release the airbag connector locking button.
(f) Disconnect the airbag connector to remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
