Pre-collision System

NOTICE:

After the power switch is turned off, the radio and display receiver assembly records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, make sure to wait at least 85 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. (for Audio and Visual System)

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

While the auxiliary battery is connected, even if the power switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or any door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore, when servicing the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal or open/close the doors while the auxiliary battery is connected.

PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

2. SEPARATE NO. 1 BRAKE ACTUATOR TUBE

(a) Remove the 2 nuts and separate the No. 1 brake actuator tube.

3. REMOVE ACCUMULATOR TO BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER TUBE

(a) Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the accumulator to brake master cylinder tube from the brake booster with master cylinder assembly.

(b) Disengage the claw to separate the clamp cover.

(c) Disengage the 12 clamps and remove the 2 No. 1 brake tube clamps.

(d) Disengage the 6 clamps and remove the No. 2 brake tube clamp.

4. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the clamp to separate the No. 3 front brake tube from the No. 9 brake tube clamp.

(b) Disengage the clamp to remove the No. 9 brake tube clamp from the brake actuator bracket assembly.

(c) Remove the 2 nuts.

(d) Remove the bolt of the brake actuator bracket assembly.

(e) Remove the brake booster pump assembly as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:

  • Do not apply excessive force to the brake lines.
  • Do not carry the brake booster pump assembly by the parts shown in the illustration.
  • Do not drop the brake booster pump assembly when carrying it.
  • Be careful not to allow brake fluid to enter the connector.

HINT:

Move the brake actuator bracket assembly as necessary to allow the brake booster pump assembly to be removed.

(f) Remove the brake actuator bracket assembly from the vehicle body.

NOTICE:

Do not apply excessive force to the brake lines.

(g) Remove the brake actuator case collar and brake booster pump bushing from the brake actuator bracket assembly.

5. REMOVE NO. 1 BRAKE ACTUATOR HOSE

(a) Slide the clip and remove the No. 1 brake actuator hose from the brake booster pump assembly.

6. REMOVE NO. 1 BRAKE TUBE CLAMP BRACKET

(a) Remove the bolt and No. 1 brake tube clamp bracket from the brake booster pump assembly.
