INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL STUD BOLT (w/ Stud Bolt)

HINT:

If a stud bolt is deformed or the threads are damaged, replace it.

(a) Using an E6 "TORX" socket wrench, install the 2 stud bolts to the intake manifold. Torque: 5.0 N·m {51 kgf·cm, 44 in·lbf}

2. INSTALL NO. 1 INTAKE MANIFOLD TO HEAD GASKET

(a) Install a new No. 1 intake manifold to head gasket to the intake manifold.

3. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD

(a) Install the wire harness clamp bracket to the intake manifold with the bolt.

Torque:

8.4 N·m {86 kgf·cm, 74 in·lbf}

(b) Install the engine cover joint to the intake manifold.

Torque:

10 N·m {102 kgf·cm, 7 ft·lbf}

(c) Temporarily install the intake manifold stay and intake manifold with the 4 bolts and 2 nuts.

HINT:

If the intake manifold set bolt cannot be tightened to the specified torque because the tip of the No. 2 generator bracket set bolt is in the way, remove the V-ribbed belt first.

(d) Tighten the 4 bolts and 2 nuts to the specified torque in several steps.

Torque:

28 N·m {286 kgf·cm, 21 ft·lbf}

(e) Engage the 4 wire harness clamps.

(f) Connect the ventilation hose to the intake manifold and slide the clip to secure it.

(g) Connect the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose to the intake manifold.

(h) Install the vacuum sensor bracket to the intake manifold with the engine cover joint.

Torque:

10 N·m {102 kgf·cm, 7 ft·lbf}

(i) Connect the No. 1 air hose to the intake manifold.

(j) Engage the 2 wire harness clamps to the vacuum sensor bracket.

(k) Engage the wire harness clamp to the intake manifold.

4. INSTALL E.F.I. VACUUM SENSOR ASSEMBLY (MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR)
