INSTALLATION
PROCEDURE
1. INSTALL NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY
|
(a) Insert the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly into the vehicle body. |
|
(b) Install the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly with the 4 bolts and nut.
Torque:
Bolt :
6.0 N·m {61 kgf·cm, 53 in·lbf}
Nut :
15.5 N·m {158 kgf·cm, 11 ft·lbf}
|
(c) Engage the clip to install the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly. NOTICE: Be sure to engage the clip to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly as shown in the illustration. |

(d) Connect the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly. |
|
2. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE LEVER PROTECTOR
|
(a) Install the parking brake lever protector to the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly. |
|
3. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR
|
(a) Install the front No. 2 floor heat insulator with the 2 nuts. Torque: 5.0 N·m {51 kgf·cm, 44 in·lbf} |
|
(b) Install the 4 clips.
4. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR
|
(a) Install the front No. 1 floor heat insulator with the 3 nuts. Torque: 5.0 N·m {51 kgf·cm, 44 in·lbf} |

5. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Front and Rear Catalyst)

6. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CABLE END STOPPER
|
(a) Engage the 2 claws to install the parking brake cable end stopper and No. 1 parking brake cable assembly to the parking brake equalizer. |
|
|
(b) Engage the 2 claws to install the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly to the parking brake cable end stopper. |
|
7. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY
(a) Pass the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly through the parking brake lever sub-assembly.
|
(b) Bend down the parking brake lever sub-assembly claw. |
|
|
(c) Temporarily install the new No. 1 wire adjusting nut to the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly. |
