PROCEDURE
1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

2. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH

3. DRAIN MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL
|
(a) Remove the manual transmission filler plug and gasket from the manual transmission case. |
|
|
(b) Remove the manual transmission drain plug and gasket to drain the manual transaxle oil. |
|
(c) Install a new gasket and the manual transmission drain plug to the manual transmission case.
Torque:
39.2 N·m {400 kgf·cm, 29 ft·lbf}
4. ADD MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL
|
(a) Add manual transaxle oil until the oil level is between 0 and 5 mm (0.197 in.) from the bottom lip of the manual transmission filler plug opening. Manual Transaxle Oil: "Toyota Genuine Manual Transmission Gear Oil LV" or "API GL-4 and SAE 75W" Standard Capacity: 1.5 liters (1.6 US qts, 1.3 Imp. qts) |

(b) Install a new gasket and the manual transmission filler plug to the manual transmission case.
Torque:
39.2 N·m {400 kgf·cm, 29 ft·lbf}
NOTICE:
- When adding manual transaxle oil, make sure that the vehicle is level.
- An excessively large or small amount of manual transaxle oil may cause problems.
- After adding manual transaxle oil, drive the vehicle and recheck the oil level.
5. INSPECT FOR MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL LEAK
6. INSTALL REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH
