High Beam Headlight Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the high beam headlights.

NOTICE:

Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following procedure.
Check the operation of the low beam headlights. If the low beam headlights do not operate normally, refer to Problem Symptoms Table.

Before replacing the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), refer to Registration.

PROCEDURE

1.	PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

(e) Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

OK:

High beam headlights illuminate.

2.	CHECK VEHICLE TYPE

(a) Check the vehicle type.

GO TO STEP 7

3.	CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DIM RELAY - HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH)

(a) Remove the DIM relay.

(b) Disconnect the A62 headlight assembly LH connector.

(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
3 (DIM relay) - A62-4 (HI)	Always	Below 1 Ω
3 (DIM relay) or A62-4 (HI) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
3 (DIM relay) or A61-4 (HI) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

4.	INSPECT DIM RELAY

(a) Remove the DIM relay.

(b) Inspect the DIM relay.

REPLACE DIM RELAY

5.	CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE - DIM RELAY)

(a) Remove the DIM relay.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

2 (DIM relay) - Body ground	Ignition switch off	11 to 14 V
5 (DIM relay) - Body ground	Ignition switch off	11 to 14 V

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

6.	CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DIM RELAY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU))

(a) Remove the DIM relay.

(b) Disconnect the G44 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

Standard Resistance:

Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
1 (DIM relay) - G44-13 (DIM)	Always	Below 1 Ω
1 (DIM relay) or G44-13 (DIM) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

7.	CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DIM RELAY - HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH)

*1: Turn Light for LED Type
*2: Turn Light for Bulb Type

(a) Remove the DIM relay.

(b) Disconnect the A98*1 or A99*2 headlight assembly LH connector.

(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

Turn Light for LED Type

3 (DIM relay) - A98-6 (HI)	Always	Below 1 Ω
3 (DIM relay) or A98-6 (HI) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

Turn Light for Bulb Type
