DESCRIPTION
The engine stop and start ECU detects malfunctions by comparing the conditions of the shift position signal and NSW signal. If a malfunction is detected, the engine stop and start ECU blinks the stop and start cancel indicator, prohibits stop and start control and stores DTC P085012 or P085014.

READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SHIFT SW STATUS)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Data List / Shift SW Status (P, R, N, D Range).

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE STOP AND START ECU - PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
|
(a) Disconnect the engine stop and start ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the park/neutral position switch assembly connector.
(c) Disconnect the ECM connector.
(d) Disconnect the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector. (w/ Smart Key System)
(e) Remove the ST NO. 1 relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
(f) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
