PRECAUTION
WHEN DISCONNECTING AUXILIARY BATTERY CABLE
(a) After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

WHEN AUTOMATIC COLLISION NOTIFICATION HAS ACTIVATED
(a) Perform "ACN CALL END" with the Techstream to terminate ACN (Automatic Collision Notification) with the call center.

WHEN DISCONNECTING CONNECTORS FROM DCM (TELEPHONE TRANSCEIVER ASSEMBLY)
(a) The ignition switch must be off.
WHEN REPLACING DCM (TELEPHONE TRANSCEIVER ASSEMBLY)
(a) After installing a new Telematics Data Communication Module (DCM [telephone transceiver assembly]), perform "DCM ACTIVATION" with the Techstream. This allows the Telematics service provider to register the new DCM (telephone transceiver assembly) and to delete the old DCM (telephone transceiver assembly) information from their database.

NOTICE:
Do not replace the DCM (telephone transceiver assembly) with one from another vehicle.
WHEN UNABLE TO CONTACT WITH CALL CENTER BUT NO DTC
(a) This may occur when the cellular signal strength was very weak. Check "DCM OPERATION HISTORY" with the Techstream.

WHEN DIAGNOSING DCM (TELEPHONE TRANSCEIVER ASSEMBLY)
(a) While attempting to diagnose the DCM (telephone transceiver assembly), do not use a DCM (telephone transceiver assembly) from another vehicle. Each DCM (telephone transceiver assembly) is registered to a specific VIN and should not be tested in another vehicle.
PRECAUTION FOR DCM (TELEPHONE TRANSCEIVER ASSEMBLY)
(a) The DCM (telephone transceiver assembly) uses electrical waves (LTE [Long Term Evolution]). Radio waves and telephone network line may occasionally be unstable depending on time or location factors. Therefore, as for the connection malfunction, as there is the possibility of a temporary phenomenon due to the condition of electrical waves, it is necessary to determine by comparing with occurrence frequency or cellular phone.
(b) With the exception of replacing the mobilephone battery, the DCM (telephone transceiver assembly) cannot not be disassembled (the DCM [telephone transceiver assembly] case must not be opened). Replace parts.
PRECAUTION FOR MOBILEPHONE BATTERY
(a) The mobilephone battery is a Lithium-ion type battery and can be charged from the DCM (telephone transceiver assembly).
(b) When ACN (Automatic Collision Notification) is performed, the mobilephone battery provides power to the DCM (telephone transceiver assembly).
NOTICE:
The mobilephone battery must not be replaced while an ACN call is in progress.
HINT:
When a Manual Emergency Call is made, the mobilephone battery is not used as the power source.
(c) When it is time to replace the mobilephone battery, the manual (SOS) switch red indicator will come on. The DCM (telephone transceiver assembly) will also store a DTC or specific vehicle control history (RoB) code.
PRECAUTION FOR SAFETY CONNECT SYSTEM
(a) If replacing the DCM (telephone transceiver assembly), refer to Initialization of Repair Instruction.
