ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT HEADLIGHT RELAY

(a) Inspect the headlight dimmer relay (H-LP LH relay).

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance

Tester Connection

Auxiliary Battery Connection

Specified Condition
If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight relay (H-LP LH relay).

Auxiliary battery voltage is not applied to terminals 1 and 2

10 kΩ or higher

Auxiliary battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2

Below 1 Ω

(b) Inspect the headlight dimmer relay (H-LP RH relay).

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Tester Connection

Auxiliary Battery Connection

Specified Condition
If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight relay (H-LP RH relay).

Auxiliary battery voltage is not applied to terminals 1 and 2

10 kΩ or higher

Auxiliary battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2

Below 1 Ω

2. INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER RELAY

(a) Inspect the headlight dimmer relay (DIM relay).

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Tester Connection

Auxiliary Battery Connection

Specified Condition
If the result is not as specified, replace the headlight dimmer relay (DIM relay).

Auxiliary battery voltage is not applied to terminals 1 and 2

10 kΩ or higher

Auxiliary battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2

Below 1 Ω

3. INSPECT RUNNING LIGHT RELAY

(a) Inspect the running light relay (DRL relay).

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance

Tester Connection

Auxiliary Battery Connection

Specified Condition
If the result is not as specified, replace the running light relay (DRL relay).

Auxiliary battery voltage is not applied to terminals 1 and 2

10 kΩ or higher

Auxiliary battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2

Below 1 Ω

4. INSPECT FOG LIGHT RELAY

(a) Inspect the fog light relay (FOG FR relay).

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Tester Connection

Auxiliary Battery Connection

Specified Condition
If the result is not as specified, replace the fog light relay (FOG FR relay).
