1. INSPECT AUTO HIGH BEAM SWITCH

(a) Inspect the automatic high beam main switch.

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

Switch Condition

Specified Condition
If the result is not as specified, replace the auto high beam switch.

5 (B) - 2 (E)

Automatic high beam main switch off

10 kΩ or higher

Automatic high beam main switch on

Below 1 Ω

(Auto High Beam Switch)

(b) Check the illumination.

(1) Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the connector and check the illumination conditions.

OK:

Auxiliary Battery Connection

Specified Condition
If the result is not as specified, replace the auto high beam switch.

Auxiliary battery positive (+) → 6 (ILL+)

Auxiliary battery negative (-) → 1 (ILL-)

Illuminates

(c) Check the indicator.

(1) Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the connector and check the illumination conditions.

OK:

Auxiliary Battery Connection

Specified Condition
If the result is not as specified, replace the auto high beam switch.

Auxiliary battery positive (+) → 3 (IND+)

Auxiliary battery negative (-) → 4 (AZBI)
