NOTICE:
If the Data List item Stop&Start Operating Permission (Power Management) is "NG" even after correcting a certain problem using the diagnostic troubleshooting procedures, the problem may be due to the battery charge amount being temporarily low or the battery may be deteriorated. However, there may be multiple overlapping conditions which are causing system operation to be prohibited, so make sure to always confirm all the diagnostic troubleshooting procedures.

HINT:
If the Data List item "Integrated Current" is 0 A-sec or higher, it is not necessary to perform initialization.
-
When the battery state sensor assembly current value is normal, recharge or replace the battery
-
When the electrical load is large, a large amount of electrical discharge occurs. As a result, the integrated current value (battery charge amount) tends to drop causing operation to be prohibited.

CHARGE AUXILIARY BATTERY AFTER CHECKING AUXILIARY BATTERY STATE
Charge auxiliary battery after checking auxiliary battery state. After replacing battery or charging battery until charging current decreases to 5 A or less, if integrated current value still does not increase to threshold value*1 or higher, initialize integrated current value*2 and drive vehicle until stop and start control operates (approximately 5 to 40 minutes).

Prohibition of stop and start control based on the jump start conditions
|
Permit / Prohibit
Prohibit / Permit
|
Permit: Except for jump start conditions
|
When Prohibit is displayed, stop and start control will be prohibited until the ignition switch is turned off.
Jump start conditions: Engine started with the engine hood open and the ignition switch START
|
HINT:
Stop and start control may be prohibited if the engine was started with the engine hood open.

CHARGE OR REPLACE BATTERY AFTER CHECKING BATTERY STATE
|
(a) Check the battery.
HINT:
-
Charge or replace the battery according to the check result.
-
When the cable is disconnected from the battery terminal or the charging control system is checked (ECM connector is disconnected), do not perform this procedure, as there is a high possibility that the system may enter refresh charge mode and operation may be prohibited.
(b) Check the starter inrush current reduction relay.
(c) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(d) Start the engine.
(e) Turn the Techstream on.
(f) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Data List / Battery Current.
Powertrain > Stop and Start > Data List

(h) While idling, illuminate the headlights (Lo).
HINT:
The headlights (Lo) are illuminated so that charging control is prohibited, which sets the voltage to a fixed value.
(i) Charge the battery for approximately 5 minutes after Battery Current drops 5 A or less.
HINT:
The Data List item "Battery Current" decreases when the battery is charged. If the battery is charged for 5 minutes after Battery Current drops to 5 A or less, it can be determined that the battery is sufficiently charged.
(j) Turn off the headlights.
(k) Turn the ignition switch off and wait for 30 seconds or more.
(l) Start the engine and check the following Data List items.
Powertrain > Stop and Start > Data List

Minimum Voltage (Cranking)
|
Minimum voltage when cranking engine
|
Min.: -327.68 V
Max.: 327.67 V
|
6 to 11 V
|
Lowest battery voltage measured after the cranking.
|
Minimum Voltage (Starter Solenoid Engagement)
|
Minimum voltage when starter begins operation
|
Min.: -327.68 V
Max.: 327.67 V
|
6 to 11 V
|
Minimum battery voltage while the starter starts operating.
|
Stop&Start Operating Permission (Minimum Voltage (Starter Solenoid Engagement))
|
Permission of stop and start control based on minimum voltage during starter solenoid engagement
|
NG / OK
|
OK: Minimum voltage when starter begins operation is equal to the threshold or higher
|
If both Minimum Voltage (Starter Solenoid Engagement) condition and Minimum Voltage (Cranking) condition are OK, stop and start control is permitted
|
Stop&Start Operating Permission (Minimum Voltage (Cranking))
|
Permission of stop and start control based on minimum voltage during cranking
|
NG / OK
|
OK: Minimum voltage when cranking is equal to the threshold or higher
|
If both Minimum Voltage (Starter Solenoid Engagement) condition and Minimum Voltage (Cranking) condition are OK, stop and start control is permitted.
