DESCRIPTION

The parking brake ECU (brake actuator assembly) communicates with the acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly), skid control ECU (brake booster with master cylinder assembly), main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly via CAN communication.

Both of following conditions are met:

  1. Vehicle being driven at 6 km/h (4 mph) or more.
  2. Parking brake ECU (brake actuator assembly) cannot receive signals from the acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly).
  • CAN communication system
  • Acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly)

DTC stored

An electric parking brake system malfunction is displayed on the combination meter assembly.

Lost Communication with Brake System Control Module "A" Missing Message

Both of following conditions are met:

  1. Power switch on (IG).
  2. Parking brake ECU (brake actuator assembly) cannot receive signals from the skid control ECU (brake booster with master cylinder assembly) for approximately 15 seconds or 30 seconds (malfunction duration differs depending on the signal).
  • CAN communication system
  • Skid control ECU (brake booster with master cylinder assembly)
