DESCRIPTION

The forward recognition camera receives G sensor signals from the airbag sensor assembly via CAN communication.

If the forward recognition camera receives a G sensor malfunction signal from the airbag sensor assembly, DTC C1A48 is stored.

After the power switch is turned on (IG) for 3 seconds or more, when the vehicle is being driven at a speed of 5 km/h (4 mph) or more, a signal from the airbag sensor assembly indicating that there is a G sensor malfunction is detected by the forward recognition camera for 5 seconds or more.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

  • When replacing the forward recognition camera, always replace it with a new one. If a forward recognition camera which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the forward recognition camera will not match the information from the vehicle. As a result, a DTC may be stored.
  • If the forward recognition camera has been replaced with a new one, be sure to perform forward recognition camera adjustment.

  • The lane departure alert system uses the CAN communication system. First, confirm that there are no malfunctions in the CAN communication system. Refer to How to Proceed with Troubleshooting.

CHECK FOR DTCs (ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM)

HINT:

Lane departure alert system DTC C1A48 may be stored due to a malfunction in the electronically controlled brake system. Therefore it is necessary to check for and troubleshoot electronically controlled brake system DTCs first.

(a) Check for DTCs.

CHECK FOR DTCs (LANE DEPARTURE ALERT SYSTEM)

(a) Clear the DTCs.

Chassis > LKA/LDA > Clear DTCs

(b) Perform the following procedure.

HINT:

If the following procedure is not performed, the previously output DTC cannot be detected.

  1. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait 3 seconds or more.
  2. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 5 km/h (4 mph) or more for 5 seconds or more.

(c) Check for DTCs.
