Title: HYBRID / BATTERY CONTROL: HV BATTERY STACK(for LITHIUM-ION BATTERY): BASIC INSPECTION; 2018 - 2024 MY Camry HV [07/2017 - ] |
DESCRIPTION
When replacing the No. 1 HV supply stack sub-assembly or No. 2 HV supply stack sub-assembly, it is necessary to check, adjust and equalize the SOC of the HV battery. Otherwise, the engine may run longer than normal, resulting in a decrease in fuel efficiency.
PROCEDURE

READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (Hybrid Battery SOC)
|
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / HV Battery / Data List / Hybrid Battery SOC.
(e) Read the Data List.

HINT:
If the following procedure (charging or discharging of the HV battery) cannot be performed due to the condition of the vehicle, proceed to the next step.
(a) Apply the parking brake and chock all 4 wheels.
(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(d) Turn the Techstream on.
(e) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / HV Battery / Data List / Hybrid Battery SOC.
(f) Depress the accelerator pedal and brake pedal simultaneously or leave the vehicle with neutral (N) selected until the value of Data List item "Hybrid Battery SOC" is between 55% and 65%.
Powertrain > HV Battery > Data List
Tester Display

|
HINT:
-
Depressing the accelerator pedal and brake pedal simultaneously will cause the HV battery to charge and the value of "Hybrid Battery SOC" to increase.
-
Leaving the vehicle with neutral (N) selected will cause the HV battery to discharge and the value of "Hybrid Battery SOC" to decrease.
(g) Turn the power switch off.
