REMOVAL
CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during rear seat airbag assembly removal/installation are shown below.

Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.
NOTICE:
If a rear seat airbag assembly has been deployed, replace the rear seat airbag assembly, bench type rear seatback pad and bench type rear seatback cover with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.

PROCEDURE
1. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
for A25A-FKS: Click here
for 2GR-FKS: Click here
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

3. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY

4. DISCONNECT BENCH TYPE REAR SEATBACK COVER
HINT:
Disconnect the bench type rear seatback cover to the extent that allows the removal of the rear seat airbag assembly.

5. REMOVE REAR SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
CAUTION:
When storing the rear seat airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

(b) Remove the 4 nuts, rear side airbag bracket assembly and rear seat airbag assembly.
NOTICE:
-
Do not reuse the nuts.
-
Make sure that the bench type rear seatback pad is not deformed. If it is deformed, replace it with a new one.
