DESCRIPTION

DTC Detection Condition

Trouble Area

C1421

Any of the following is detected:

  1. When voltage at terminal +BS is 9.5 V or higher, power supply voltage of master cylinder pressure sensor is continuously low for 1 second or more.
  2. When master cylinder pressure sensor power supply voltage has risen, master cylinder pressure sensor has overheated or overcurrent of master cylinder pressure sensor continues for 0.1 seconds or more.
  3. When +BS terminal voltage is 9.5 to 17.4 V, there is no communication with master cylinder pressure sensor continuously for 0.1 seconds or more.

Brake actuator assembly (master cylinder pressure sensor)

C1423

Master cylinder pressure is below -0.744 MPa (-7.6 kgf/cm2, -107 psi) for 5 seconds or more.

Brake actuator assembly (master cylinder pressure sensor)

C1424

Any of the following is detected:

  1. When vehicle speed is 7 km/h (4.3 mph) or more and master cylinder pressure exceeds 1.764 MPa (18.0 kgf/cm2, 255 psi), master cylinder pressure does not increase 0.048 MPa (0.5 kgf/cm2, 6.9 psi) or more continuously for 60 seconds.
  2. When vehicle speed is 7 km/h (4.3 mph) and master cylinder pressure is 2.45 MPa (25.0 kgf/cm2, 355 psi) or more, master cylinder pressure does not increase 0.048 MPa (0.5 kgf/cm2, 6.9 psi) or more continuously for 30 seconds.
  3. Master cylinder pressure does not increase 0.048 MPa (0.5 kgf/cm2, 6.9 psi) or more 5 times or more while vehicle speed decreases from 40 km/h (25 mph) to 0 km/h (0 mph).
  4. When vehicle speed is 10 km/h (6 mph) or more, noise in master cylinder pressure value occurs 7 times or more in 5 seconds.
  5. When vehicle speed is 7 km/h (4.3 mph) or more, braking is performed (stop light switch assembly is ON) and master cylinder pressure differential value is below 20 MPa/s, difference between master cylinder pressure estimated from vehicle deceleration and master cylinder pressure sensor input value is large for 1 second or more 5 times or more.

Brake actuator assembly (master cylinder pressure sensor)

C142A

Any of the following is detected:

  • Master cylinder pressure is 23.328 MPa (237.8 kgf/cm2, 3382 psi) or more continuously for 0.1 seconds.
  • Master cylinder temperature is 150°C (302°F) or more continuously for 0.1 seconds.

Brake actuator assembly (master cylinder pressure sensor)

C1449

Master cylinder pressure sensor invalid condition continues for 0.2 seconds or more.

Brake actuator assembly (master cylinder pressure sensor)

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

When replacing the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly), perform zero point calibration and store system information (See page 2018 - 2020 MY Sienna [11/2017 -        ]; BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: CALIBRATION ).

PROCEDURE

1.

REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Replace the master cylinder pressure sensor (brake actuator assembly) (See page 2018 - 2020 MY Sienna [11/2017 -        ]; BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: BRAKE ACTUATOR: REMOVAL ).

(b) Perform zero point calibration of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor and store system information (See page 2018 - 2020 MY Sienna [11/2017 -        ]; BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: CALIBRATION ).

(c) Perform the sensor check in Test Mode Procedure (See page 2018 - 2020 MY Sienna [11/2017 -        ]; BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: TEST MODE PROCEDURE ).
