Acceleration Sensor Output Malfunction
|
DESCRIPTION
The skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) receives signals from the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) via the CAN communication system.
The airbag sensor assembly has a built-in yaw rate and acceleration sensor and detects the vehicle's condition using 2 circuits (GL1, GL2).
If there is trouble in the bus lines between the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) and the CAN communication system, the DTC U0124 (malfunction in CAN communication with the acceleration sensor) is output.
These DTCs are also output when calibration has not been completed.
DTC No.

DTC Detection Condition
|
Trouble Area
|
C1232
|
At a vehicle speed of 10 km/h (6 mph) or more, either GL1 or GL2 (input signal) does not change for 30 seconds or more.

C1243
|
Any of the following is detected:
-
Output values of GL1 and GL2 do not change 16 times or more while vehicle speed decreases from 30 km/h (19 mph) to 0 km/h (0 mph).
-
Output values of GL1 and GL2 (front and rear, left and right) are outside permitted output range for 60 seconds or more.
-
Left and right output values of GL1 and GL2 are outside permitted output range for 60 seconds or more.

Sensor installation
|
C1245
|
At a vehicle speed of 30 km/h (19 mph) or more, the difference between the forward and backward G calculated from the acceleration sensor value and that calculated from the vehicle speed exceeds 0.35 G for 60 seconds or more.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
NOTICE:
When replacing the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly), perform zero point calibration and store system information (See page
).
HINT:
When U0124 is output together with C1232, C1243, and/or C1245, inspect and repair the trouble areas indicated by U0124 first (See page
).
PROCEDURE
1.
|
CHECK AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION
|
(a) Check that the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) has been installed properly (See page
).
OK:
The sensor should be tightened to the specified torque.
The sensor should not be installed in a tilted position.
NOTICE:
Check the yaw rate and acceleration sensor signal after replacement (See page
).
HINT:
If troubleshooting has been carried out according to Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing parts (See page
).
