DESCRIPTION

These solenoids turn on when signals are received from the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) and they control the pressure acting on the wheel cylinders to control the braking force.

DTC No.

DTC Detection Condition

Trouble Area

C1225

Any of the following is detected:

  1. While master cylinder cut solenoid outputs ON, overcurrent continues for 0.1 seconds or more.
  2. While master cylinder cut solenoid outputs OFF, open circuit continues for 0.05 seconds or more.
  3. While master cylinder cut solenoid outputs ON, open circuit continues for 0.05 seconds or more.
  4. While master cylinder cut solenoid outputs OFF, current is maintained for 0.05 seconds or more.
  5. Difference in master cylinder cut solenoid output accuracy continues for 0.2 seconds or more.

Brake actuator assembly

C1468

C1469

C146A

C146B

Any of the following is detected:

  1. Open or short circuit in decompression solenoid continues for 0.05 seconds or more.
  2. While holding solenoid outputs OFF, open circuit continues for 0.05 seconds or more.
  3. While holding solenoid outputs OFF, current is maintained for 0.05 seconds or more.
  4. While holding solenoid outputs ON, overcurrent continues for 0.1 seconds or more.
  5. While holding solenoid outputs ON, open circuit continues for 0.05 seconds or more.
  6. Difference in holding solenoid LH and RH accuracy continues for 0.2 seconds or more.

Brake actuator assembly

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

When replacing the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly), perform zero point calibration and store system information (See page 2018 - 2020 MY Sienna [11/2017 -        ]; BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: CALIBRATION ).

PROCEDURE

1.

RECONFIRM DTC

HINT:

  • These codes are detected when a problem is determined in the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly).
  • The solenoid circuits are in the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly).

Therefore, solenoid circuit inspection and solenoid unit inspection cannot be performed. Be sure to check if any DTCs are output before replacing the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly).

(a) Clear the DTCs (See page 2018 - 2020 MY Sienna [11/2017 -        ]; BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).

(b) Turn the ignition switch off.

(c) Start the engine.

(d) Drive the vehicle at a speed of 20 km/h (12 mph) or more for 30 seconds or more.

(e) Check if the same DTC is output (See page 2018 - 2020 MY Sienna [11/2017 -        ]; BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).

Result

Proceed to

DTCs are not output.

A

DTCs are output.

B

HINT:

  • If a speed signal of 6 km/h (4 mph) or more is input to the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly), with the ignition switch to ON and the stop light switch assembly off, the ECU performs self diagnosis of the motor and solenoid circuits.
  • If the normal system code is output (the trouble code is not output), slightly jiggle the connectors, wire harness, and fuses of the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly). Make sure that no DTCs are output.
  • If any DTCs are output while jiggling a connector or wire harness from the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly), inspect and repair the connector or wire harness.
  • The DTCs were probably output due to a bad connection of the connector terminal.
