Skid Control Buzzer Circuit

DESCRIPTION

A buzzer sounds to alert the driver when the vehicle-to-vehicle distance becomes less than the set value (w/ dynamic radar cruise control system).

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

  • When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration and store system information (See page 2016 - 2017 MY Sienna [12/2015 - 11/2017]; BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: CALIBRATION ).
  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE

1.

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (BUZZER)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC / Active Test.

(e) According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE TERMINAL)

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

(b) Disconnect the skid control buzzer connector.

(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(d) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

INSPECT SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSEMBLY

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

(b) Apply battery negative voltage to terminal 1, and battery positive voltage to terminal 2 of the skid control buzzer, and then check that the buzzer sounds.

OK:

The skid control buzzer sounds.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY - SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the A4 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
