Title: HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM: B14B8; Refrigerant Shortage; 2017 - 2020 MY Sienna [08/2016 - ] |
DTC
|
B14B8
|
Refrigerant Shortage
|
DESCRIPTION
This DTC is stored if the refrigerant is insufficient in the cycle.
The air conditioning amplifier receives the ambient temperature signal, refrigerant pressure signal etc. from the various sensors.
Based on these signals, the air conditioning amplifier detects the amount of refrigerant.
The A/C switch indicator is turned off and air conditioning system is stopped if the amount of refrigerant is insufficient in the cycle.
DTC No.

PROCEDURE
1.
|
CHECK FOR AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM LEAK
|
(a) Install a manifold gauge set.
(b) Recover the refrigerant from the air conditioning system using a refrigerant recovery unit.
(c) Evacuate the air conditioning system and check that vacuum can be maintained in it.
OK:
Vacuum can be maintained in the air conditioning system.
HINT:
If vacuum cannot be maintained in the air conditioning system, refrigerant may be leaking from it. In this case, it is necessary to repair or replace the leaking part of the air conditioning system.
