REMOVAL
PROCEDURE
1. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:

Perform Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) registration when replacing the ECM.

If the ECM has been struck or dropped, replace it.

After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

3. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

4. REMOVE COWL PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET ASSEMBLY
Click here
6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE
Click here
7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

9. REMOVE ECM
(a) Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.
NOTICE:
After disconnecting the ECM connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting parts of the ECM connectors.

(b) Remove the 4 bolts and ECM from the vehicle.
NOTICE:
If the ECM has been struck or dropped, replace it.

10. REMOVE ECM BRACKET
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and ECM bracket from the ECM.
