REMOVAL
PROCEDURE
1. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

3. REMOVE FRONT AIR CONDITIONING UNIT

4. REMOVE BATTERY

5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET ASSEMBLY

6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE

7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

9. REMOVE AIR CLEANER BRACKET

10. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (TWC: Front Catalyst)

11. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR
(a) Remove the 2 nuts and front No. 1 floor heat insulator.

12. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the transmission control cable assembly from the control shaft lever as shown in the illustration.

(b) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws, disconnect the transmission control cable with clip from the transmission control cable bracket.
(c) Remove the 2 clips from the transmission control cable.
(d) Disconnect the end of the transmission control cable from the shift lever.

(e) Using a screwdriver, pull out the transmission control cable stopper.
NOTICE:
Do not remove the stopper. If the stopper is removed, reinstall it to its original position.

|
(f) Rotate the nut counterclockwise approximately 270° and, while holding the nut in that position, disconnect the transmission control cable from the shift lever retainer.

(g) Remove the 3 bolts and pull out the transmission control cable from the body.
