Open in Seat Belt Motor RH Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The seat belt control ECU receives information from the driving support ECU using CAN communication and tightens the seat belt by operating the motor in the front seat outer belt assembly RH.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

CAUTION:

The pretensioner is built into the front seat outer belt assembly RH. Be sure to follow the correct inspection procedure, as failure to follow the correct procedure (such as inspection of incorrect connectors) may deploy the pretensioner.

PROCEDURE

1.

INSPECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Disconnect the L1 front seat outer belt assembly RH connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

(c) Reconnect the front seat outer belt assembly RH connector.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH - SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU)

(a) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(b) Disconnect the L1 front seat outer belt assembly RH connector.

(c) Disconnect the D84 seat belt control ECU connector.

(d) Using a service wire, connect 1 and 2 of the L1 connector on the front seat outer belt assembly RH.

NOTICE:

Do not forcibly insert the service wire into the terminals of the connector.

(e) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(f) Reconnect the seat belt control ECU and front seat outer belt assembly RH connectors.

(g) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
