REMOVAL
CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing (See page
).
HINT:
The procedure described below is for the RH side. Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides, unless otherwise specified.
PROCEDURE
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See page
).
2. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
3. SEPARATE SLIDE DOOR WEATHERSTRIP RH
4. SEPARATE BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP
5. REMOVE BACK DOOR SCUFF PLATE
6. SEPARATE REAR NO. 2 SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)
7. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY RH
8. REMOVE REAR AIRBAG SENSOR
CAUTION:
Confirm that the negative battery terminal is disconnected before performing the operation. Even an impact to only the airbag sensor will cause the airbag to deploy.
(a) Disconnect the connector.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
(1) Push and hold the white housing lock, and slide the yellow outer connector locking sleeve.

(2) Push and hold the white housing lock again, and slide the yellow outer connector locking sleeve to disconnect the connector.
(b) Remove the bolt and the rear airbag sensor.
NOTICE:
Loosen the bolt while holding the rear airbag sensor because the rear airbag sensor pin (stopper) is easily damaged.
